Located in the southwestern area of the San Fernando Valley, Woodland Hills borders the Santa Monica Mountains. The area was once populated by Native Americans and later settled by Spaniards in the late 1700’s. It wasn’t until the mid 1800’s that the area began to grow. In 1873 the largest land transaction had occurred with Victor Girard Kleinberger purchasing 2,886 acres. He was in search of developing a town like infrastructure to attract both residents and businesses. Through efforts of advertising and planting over 100,000 trees the area was incorporated into Los Angeles. Eventually in 1945 it became known as Woodland Hills. Fast forward to today and Woodland Hills has a population of approximately 70,000 with several schools both private and public, parks and recreational activities that all create a sought after community.
